Comment: After living in California for over 20 years, I have been living in Snohomish County for the past 12 years. I have 4 daughters and have 6 grandchildren. My 7th grandchild is due in December. They live near me so I see my girls and their families almost everyday. I thoroughly enjoy my family and the times we spend together. I am presently working for Snohomish County Superior Court and enjoy my job. Life has had its ups and downs over the past 40 years, but I have really enjoyed the ride -- and I am looking forward to the next 40! Thank you to the committee for working so hard on this reunion. |

Comment: Greetings to all the Class of 69! 40 years! I can't believe it and I still remember all these class photos! Thank you Mike for contacting me and giving a heads up on the Reunion. I was hoping to be able to attend, however, my husband has been stricken with a disease that has left him a Paraplegic. He spent 8 months in the hospital with Staph/Sepsis. Along with many other ailments that came along to complicate matters. He is finally home and enjoying listening to the birds and watching the Columbia River float bye. We will not be able to attend this reunion as John has Doctor appointments in Spokane. I have two children, Bryan, age 39 and Karyn, age 37, married with 3 children. My husband has two children, Eric, age 40 and Jennifer age 38, she is married with two girls. All children are healthy and happy, thank God! My husband and I owned our own company, it was sold in 2005 and he retired. I went with the company for 3 years then retired myself. Take care, everyone, and I wish I could have been at the 40th! How about the 50th? Just Jann (Summers) Peppmiller |

Comment:
I now live in Santa Cruz, California (20 years) with my husband, Joe. We have been together for 50 years and married for 49 of those. I retired from Intel in 2000, after a successful 27 year career in Manufacturing Management and Human Resources. Joe was Owner/Contractor of Showcase Kitchens for 20 years before he sold it in 2000 and both Joe and I started on our Adventures. At least that's what we call our daily living the Adventure, believing retirement "is a state of mind" we keep an active and healthy lifestyle. We have one son, Graham, 2 grand-kids and a 2-year old Great Grandson. Our son received his PHD in Anthropology from the University of Washington this year, his son is a talented Glass Blower while his daughter is starting Western Washington University. Graham is married to a lady we love and lives in Snohomish. My mother moved (from Des Moines, Wa) into an apartment in our new duplex-plus about a year ago. Joe's mother lives about 45 miles away in a board and care home close to his brother Lou. In 2004 after putting finishing touches on our Santa Cruz house remodel, we bought property in a Beach-side Community in Costa Rica. We built a Spanish Colonial styled home and spent a total of 11 years 1/2 time in Costa Rica and Santa Cruz. We learned basic Spanish played a lot of golf, poorly, and made a lot of new friends. We sold our house and left Costa Rica in 2015. We are fortunate to have a lot of great walks in and around Santa Cruz and Joe and I started to do regular walks. We watched the movie "The Way" and it inspired us to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain. In May of 2016 we walked 200 miles of the Camino and then rented a car and explored much of Spain. Then in October 2016 a friend was getting married in London and we added on walking the "Source of the Thames River Walk" for 90 miles, ending in Goring. Walking along the Thames, through villages, across fields, observing old hand operated locks in action and staying in pubs near the river was great fun ! The end of 2016 our neighbor who built and had owned the duplex next door since 1963 passed and her son offered it for sale to us. We bought it in March of 2017 and did a complete 10 month remodel. So now we have 2 duplexes (4 units) and a little business of keeping the whole property maintained and improved. This year we have a large community organic garden - with all of the renters and us having our own places to grow vegetables. We continue eat healthy and continue to enjoy walks and traveling in general, we have lots of destinations in our future. We are in the planning stages for an extended trip to Asia in January of 2020. Most recently our favorite band The Rolling Stones came around and we were able to see them twice!

Sorry to miss this 50th reunion. I am still living in Santa Barbara and here full time now since our Northern California family ranch burned to the ground in the Butte Fire of 2015. My husband Robert and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary last summer and between all six of our kids ( We have three sons together and I have two step-sons and one step-daughter from him) we have fun with our eight grandchildren and four granddogs:) They all live in California now so we stay busy either visiting or hosting them. The latest large family gathering was here in Santa Barbara for one of their weddings. Picture to be posted. I am seated next to my husband on his right side and the woman on his left side is the mother of two of my step-children. The two youngest on their mother's laps are my first two grandsons born in late 2016 and mid 2018. As I am sure is true for many of us at this age we are beginning to lose family and friends and seem to be attending more memorials now than weddings. It makes me appreciate each moment and the time I can spend with friends and family now is so valuable and precious. I was sorry to hear from Gary Jernigan's son in January 2017 of his sudden and unexpected passing from a heart attack. I had just spoken to him the month before. Once again, sorry to miss this event and wishing you all the best as our senior years unfold! Stay Spartan! |

Comment: Just been "living"! Worked 45 years or so in Healthcare; 2 years in Landscaping; outdoor sports of all kinds from racing cars, sailboats to motorcycles...skiing (not racing...teaching & enjoying both downhill and x-c). Married John at age 34; 2 instant children; grandchildren came along next. Moved from city to mountains of Wenatchee & enjoyed mountain living; then on to Ellensburg where we have been the last 20 plus years living my dream on a small horse farm with my Morgans (1 of which learned to jump with me after I turned 50 & took me safely around many cross country courses; show jump courses and dressage tests) and until just a couple months ago a precious Shetland pony "boss mare". Like everyone, my husband John and I have experienced sadness, loss, as well as many many blessings! I retired to be primary caretaker for my husband and learn all the details of running our life. God continues to bless us thoughout the good times and bad! Hope to see you all at the 50th if I can swing it! If not...enjoy each other and remember all the good memories! Cheers!! |
